This Desert Life is my first novel. Obeying ‘Creative Writing 101 – “Write About What You Know”’, the book is set in Dubai, and follows Johnny Harris as his life is transformed by the offer of a job in boom-time Dubai. Thrown into a world of seven-star hotels and million dollar deals, Johnny embraces the expat lifestyle but as the credit crunch strikes and Dubai collapses, everything he knows and the choices he has made are called into question.
